Description
The story of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Creep Records coming together has been a long time coming. Frontman Kip Berman grew up going to the now legendary Arik Victor-run Creep Records House Shows years ago, as did label manager Will Angelos, but neither had ever met during those times. Fast-forward to 2015, when Will Angelos goes to see The New Pornographers on tour and is absolutely blown away by the support band The Pains of Being Pure At Heart. Will then walks up to the merch table, which Kip is manning, and compliments him on their set. Will asks if he can buy multiple records for the Creep Records’ retail store and the rest is history. The Hell EP on vinyl release came together in the way in the purest way. People who loved music came together to put out something they love.
The Hell EP is not all that different in its theme and concept. Kip Berman spoke about the lyrics: “The song “Hell” is about how insufferable performances of sensitivity are when there’s a good song playing and someone you want to dance with.” Ballad of the Band by Felt and Laidby James are also on the EP showcasing the band simply doing and playing what they love.
The beautiful oxblood/black vinyl color mix is not the only thing that makes this vinyl release special.
This vinyl release actually includes another song not included in the US digital release, a cover of China by Tori Amos.
The Hell EP on vinyl is truly special from its inception to its release so we have decided to make this vinyl color limited to only 500 copies.
