Description
DieHumane’s ‘The Grotesque’ is deeply rooted in mood and atmosphere, from the brooding to the cathartic, from the hopeless to the hopeful. It seamlessly combines doom metal, jazz, industrial, blues, and prog elements. Picture a scenario where Celtic Frost collides with A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, and Type O Negative while tuned in to Pink Floyd on the radio. Founded in Galveston, Texas, at the end of 2020 by Joshua Vargas and Greg Hilligiest as a coping mechanism for the loss and isolation experienced that year, DieHumane has evolved into something massive. Garret West, the former vocalist of Anova Skyway, joined as the lead vocalist, and Rick Hunolt, the former guitarist of Exodus, rounds out the group as the lead guitarist. On ‘The Grotesque,’ the revolving drummer position was filled by Sal Abruscato, formerly of Type O Negative, Life Of Agony, and A Pale Horse Named Death. The Grotesque was produced and mixed by legendary producer Ulrich Wild.
