Zex are a 4 piece punk band hailing from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada that was formed in 2014 by ex Germ Attack Guitarist: Jo Capitalixide, Vocalist: Gretchen Steel and Bassist Gab Sex.
Zex is an example of what great punk rock songwriting can be. Full of youth, anger, energy and creativity, Zex mix the best elements of punk and captures them in their music. While they draw obvious influences from bands such as the Avengers, Brat and other late 70’s American punk bands, their influences can also be linked to the early 80’s British bands such as Vice Squad and the Violators. Zex still has an uncanny way of creating a vibrant, fresh and original sound while still appealing to a vast punk audience.

Core members are: Guitarist and primary songwriter: Jo Capitalicide along with Vocalist: Gretchen Steel and Bassist Gab Sex. Zex are currently on tour throughout Europe at the moment and will be touring Japan and Asia this Summer/ Fall of 2017.

Zex has a full length and many 7”’s and EP’s under their belt and is proving that they are a band that is here to stay the course. Let’s hope so because great punk bands don’t seem to come around that frequently anymore. We at Violated Records are completely thrilled at being able to work with Zex and release this new 7”.
